Prenatal Nutrition Counseling
Being pregnant is not the license to "eat for two" as once thought.
Fairfax Nutrition offers meal planning and prenatal nutritional counseling to help you achieve the daily nutrient requirements for the development and growth of your newborn.
Some women will develop special health concerns during their pregnancies. These concerns include high blood pressure, gestational diabetes, anemia and excessive weight gain.
Through our nutritional counseling, meal planning and prenatal diet assessments we are geared to help you deal with these concerns during pregnancy and beyond!
Excess weight and poor eating habits can be harmful to both the mother and baby because it puts both at increased risk for complications before and after birth.
Learning how and what to eat during this time can assist in managing your weight gains, fetal development and having a positive outcome for your pregnancy."
Folate and Folic Acid? What are these and do I need them? YES!
Folate assists in the prevention of neural defects, abnormalities of the brain, spine and spinal cord. Lack of Folate increases the risk of low birth weight.
